Letters Never Sent – A Inspirational Short Story by Frost Fire – Reedsy Prompts.

I want to start this letter with words that have been on my heart for a long time—words I should have shared with you much earlier. I want to tell you that I’m sorry, deeply sorry, for not expressing this to you sooner. There are moments in life when we realize the weight of unspoken sentiments, and this is one of those moments for me.

As I sit down to write these words, I am overwhelmed with regret for not telling you sooner how incredibly proud I am of the person you have become, and for not sharing with you the depth of my love and admiration for you. It’s not that I didn’t feel these emotions; it’s that I failed to vocalize them, to give them the voice they deserved.

I want you to know, Sarah, that my delay in expressing these feelings has nothing to do with you and everything to do with my own shortcomings. Perhaps it was the busyness of life, the daily demands, the distractions that kept me from taking a moment to pause and reflect on what truly matters.

But here’s what I’ve come to realize: Time is a precious and fleeting commodity. It moves forward relentlessly, and we can’t turn back the clock. And so, I find myself grappling with the reality that I can never get back the moments I missed—the times I should have looked you in the eye and said, “I’m proud of you,” or “I love you,” without any hesitation.
