Harlingen, Texas, will have a new Industrial Park
In 2024, it will be a year of significant growth and economic development for the city of Harlingen, Texas, with the introduction of the new “Rooselvelt Industrial Park.”
Beverly Loftus, Chief Operating Officer of the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation, explained that plans to initiate this project are progressing satisfactorily; the site is located between Rooselvelt Road and Primera Road, covering an area of over 26 hectares.
“The Rooselvelt Industrial Park will be the ideal choice for all manufacturing and logistics companies looking to establish a presence in Harlingen, and this will also translate into new jobs, benefiting the community,” she mentioned. Loftus emphasized the connectivity the park will have to Interstate 69 and the convenient access to the Port of Harlingen and Harlingen International Airport.
The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation has been working to develop this project for almost 10 years, and 2024 could mark the final period for its realization.
Loftus provided details and expectations for this new industrial park during the presentation “Rio South Texas Binational Overview,” organized by members of the Council for South Texas Economic Progress (Costep) in collaboration with Mexico Industry. During the event, she also discussed other projects for economic benefit in Harlingen, such as the expansion of FM 509 corridor for cargo units.
